Pro Tools is the industry standard software. And yet it can seem so intimidating. What are all those buttons? Why won’t your clips play? And what is bouncing? Join producer and audio engineer Sandra Lopez-Monsalve as she walks you through the Pro Tools essentials you need to work on audio storytelling: importing audio, cutting, copying, pasting and fades. She’ll explain how to adjust volume and the difference between the mysterious-sounding slip and shuffle modes. Finally, Sandra will explain her tips for keeping your files organized. You’ll have time during the workshop to try out your new skills with support from Sandra and you’ll leave ready to get to work.

Prerequisites
In order to take this course you must:

  • Have installed Pro Tools and tested it to make sure you can open the software prior to class, even if it looks mysterious and intimidating!
  • Have a sound file (anything from WAV to MP3) on your computer that you’ve been able to play in any application

*This class is capped at 10.
