How to interview for narrative storytelling
It takes a different set of interview skills to get people to share not just the facts of their situation, but also an actual narrative. In this online class, we’ll talk through practical skills for narrative interviewing, from figuring out what questions to ask, to asking questions in a way that prompts story and emotion, and how to help sources tap into the details of stories that are often long past. If you have taken Karen’s Story Structure class, some of the material may be familiar though will be addressed from a different angle.
Bonus: Registration comes with a free, three-month license for Hindenburg audio editing software!

Testimonials
Karen Duffin's "Interviewing for Narrative" was the most nutritionally-dense 2-hour class I have ever taken! I loved how focused this session was, and also appreciated the class size .. as it felt like a real classroom but not TOO big that we couldn't chime in with questions throughout.
Karen had so many excellent tips. She presented things i often do- but put a name and order to them.
Karen was an amazing instructor! She has practical samples to all of the amazing concepts that she was sharing which really made everything come to life and made it more tangible to understand and follow.
