Film 101: The Art of the Pitchdeck for Beginners

These days, when pitching a documentary film, scripted TV series, or even a video podcast, creators are asked to deliver a pitch deck. A great deck communicates your visions, goals, and dreams in a visually compelling and clear way.
In this 1.5-hour course, Emmy-nominated documentarian Deborah Esquenazi will demystify the process of creating a deck that sells, using original presentations that turned into successful — and not so successful! — documentary features, series, and TV shows (with some fun, surprise examples).
Deborah will:
- Explore the differences between pitch decks, lookbooks, and moodboards with real examples;
- Highlight key components of great decks, including logline, synopsis, character, etc.
- Illuminate how strong decks communicate story, tone, and vision; and
- Outline a clear framework for creating your own decks!
You’ll walk away ready to prepare a winning pitch presentation.
