Let’s face it, the first time you open any audio editing program can seem daunting. What if it didn’t have to be? In this hands-on workshop, Senior Hindenburg Trainer Melissa Cáceres will walk you through how to approach editing a podcast without being a sound engineer. You’ll learn the basic technical skills you need to produce a high-quality audio story, including setting up a multitrack session, editing a raw interview or narration file, layering ambient sounds and some simple buff-and-shine techniques. Registration comes with a free, three-month license for Hindenburg audio editing software.

*This class is capped at 12.

Key Takeaways:

  • Importing audio from different sources and formats
  • Organizing your raw material
  • Basic (duck, sound bed, fades etc) and advanced automations and montage (multitrack editing)
  • Setting levels correctly for different formats, using plugins (EQ, noise reduction)
  • Exporting and uploading your final product
Note: Attendees are welcome to bring along an audio interview file of their own to work on alongside the tutorial. If not, practice audio files will be provided.

*You will receive a Zoom link for the workshop the day before it begins.
