During his tenure at NPR broadcast producer and engineer Josh Rogosin recorded and mixed over 800 of NPR’s Tiny Desk shows, including Taylor Swift, Sting and Shaggy. Anderson .Paak, Mac Miller, Nile Rogers, and Bono and the Edge. In this course, he draws on that expertise to walk you through how to distinguish your sound using various stereo gathering techniques. You will learn how to use sound to create your narrative, allowing the audio to dictate story. Finally, you will learn the delicate balance of using music to enhance your story, not distract from it. Josh will take you through his protools sessions to see exactly how he uses plugins and mastering software to create captivating content. And of course, all questions will be welcome. About Your Instructor
Josh Rogosin
While at NPR broadcast producer and engineer Josh Rogosin defined the tiny desk sound, setting the standard for live music recording. He has traveled extensively all over the world capturing documentary sound using many stereo recording techniques, which he used at the tiny desk to create the distinct sound we have all grown to love. He's overseen national programming from studios and remote locations producing nationally syndicated radio programs and podcasts heard by millions of listeners. Josh mixes all genres of music for live broadcast, voices his own radio stories, produces reporter features and capture sound from all over the world applying numerous stereo and surround recording techniques. He's now created his own production company based in New York and Washington, D.C.
