One-on-One with
John Barth
Getting started on a career search doesn’t begin by sending off a resume or responding to an ad. You want to ask yourself some questions about motivation, what you have learned, what you are seeking, and what practical things you require in your next job. If you fail to do this, you will be on the hamster wheel of employment but not a satisfying career. I help you ask important questions so you can direct your career search and not fall to whims and notions of what is simply out there.
About John Barth
John Barth is an award-winning journalist whose career spans over 40 years in audio, print, digital, and video. He has managed successful newsrooms and production teams from local to national shows and media companies. He has hired — and fired — and has seen all aspects of hiring, talent development, and talent advising. John has also been on the receiving end of layoffs — NEVER fun — staff reductions and sudden career shifts. Now, as a consultant, he assists many laid-off and employed editorial, production, and news leaders about how to take the next steps to something better.
