Everything you need to start a crowdfunding campaign.

Crowdfunding might sound cool in theory, but feel intimidating and even a little bit awkward in practice. How do you ask for money? And… actually get someone to give it to you? In this online workshop, experienced podcast crowdfunder Tal Minear will help you get over the jitters by demystifying the process and walking you through it from start to finish. 

Using their experience funding five different podcasts, Tal will teach you how to create a successful crowdfunding campaign and explore different ways to promote it. Tal will share real-life examples from podcasts they have successfully raised funds for and explain what worked for them and what didn’t. They’ll also share common pitfalls and mistakes to avoid. You’ll learn about different crowdfunding platforms, what to think about when creating perks, when to run your campaign, and more!

In the second session, you’ll apply what you learned. This will be a hands-on workshop where you’ll share your campaign draft and get feedback. You’ll leave this class with a crowdfunding plan in place, ready to hit the ground running.

About Your Instructor

Tal Minear

Tal is a voice actor, sound designer, and audio drama producer. They're the creator of Re:Dracula, Sidequesting, What Will Be Here?,
and several other productions that can be found hiding under rugs and around corners. Their work has been featured in The Atlantic, The New York Times, and Vogue. In 2024, Tal received the William Dufris Achievement Award for excellence in audio fiction.
